Mission

I provide Specialized in home Physiotherapy Services to enhance the lives of elderly and disabled individuals. My aim is to maximize independence, mobility and function.

My specialized services cater to those who have mobility dysfunction due to illness and age related conditions. This includes orthopaedic and neurological disabilities such as Stroke and Parkinson's. Treatment is based on patient education, home-based exercises, and personalized strategies to enhance balance, function, and overall mobility.

Improve Balance and Mobility

A specific exercise program, when practised regularly and safely, can significantly improve balance, strength, and confidence in standing and walking. Exercises are designed to target movements most important for everyday activities, promoting stability and coordination.

This will minimize, the risk of slips and falls, helping people move with greater confidence and freedom.

Customized Exercise Programmes

A detailed assessment, taking into account the history of illness, physical findings, psychological and social factors, can help formulate a customized exercise program which can be done regularly at home.

This can improve strength, mobility and independence appropriate to individual needs and environment.

Expert Neurological Physiotherapy

Jane offers expert neurological physiotherapy aimed at restoring mobility and function to people who may have experienced a Stroke.

This can be achieved through specific exercises and activities to facilitate movement in the affected side. This is based on the principal of neuroplasticity: the ability of the brain to adapt. Weight bearing and functional movements are the basis for treatment.

Chronic Pain Management

Jane attained a Graduate Certificate in Pain Medicine in 2015. This specialist training enables her to provide pain management services to people who have chronic pain.

Effective pain management requires a biopsychosocial approach and physical therapy combined with CBT strategies. Identifying abnormal pain behaviours and beliefs in the acute stage of illness can help prevent transition to a chronic pain state.

Jane is an experienced physiotherapist and rehab specialist dedicated to providing high quality, individualised assessment and treatment of patients presenting with pain and movement dysfunction. Decades of experience in aged care, chronic pain and neurological dysfunction, with a commitment to continuing education enables Jane to provide evidenced based and reliable assessment and effective treatment strategies. She is also qualified in the McKenzie Method of Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy and in Pain Medicine (University Sydney).

Clinical Experience
Jane has worked for the last 20 years in private practice, treating musculoskeletal and sports injuries, neurological conditions, and pain disorders. She has always enjoyed working with older people and is passionate about helping them improve their mobility, independence and quality of life. Prior to working in private practice she treated clients in Aged Care settings, always dedicated to better their quality of life by improving mobility and independence. Patient education and training of carers has always been an important factor in treatment programmes.

Extensive experience in neurological rehabilitation of people who had suffered Stroke or Brain injury at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and Prince of Wales Hospital was an important and very rewarding part of her early career. As well as being able to contribute significantly to recovery of these patients, it laid the basis for a holistic approach to treatment, which underpinned many years of work in Private Practice and Aged Care.

One of her special interests is chronic pain which requires a holistic, biopsychosocial approach. As well as the Graduate Certificate in Pain Medicine, Jane has attended David Butler’s Explain Pain course and Lorimer Moseley’s Master Classes in Pain.
